Dinosaurs are not extinct . . . to go by the many examples featured in  The Great American  Retro Road Trip . They range from Dinosaur Land , a park in Virginia with fiberglass creatures, to  Dino,  from the  Flintstones -themed park near Arizona's Grand Canyon. Cowboys are also popular roadside attractions. Author  Rolando Pujol  points to an entry in the  Guinness Book of Records.    Nevada's  Wendover Will  is listed as the world's largest mechanical cowboy. Even more famous is his ''neon brother,''  Vegas Vic , who used to be able to speak and wave. But he can still wink. Reproductions of stars and moons are seen throughout the book, too. Among them are a half-moon, advertising the  Moon Lite Motel  in Versailles, Indiana, and four stars outside the  Starlite Motel  in Kerhonkson, New York. There are loads of ice cream cone signs. A free  Halloween Art & Nature Festival  is planned for October 25th in Arnaudville, Louisiana.  Hosted by  Atelier de la Nature , a nature reserve and eco-educational campus, the event is inspired by the state's natural wonders and cultural traditions. Fifty hands-on activities, such as workshops and hikes, will be led by artists and scientists. Space is limited, so registration is required for the 10 a.m.-4 p.m. session, or an evening session. During the latter, folks can take part in a fantasy creature drawing contest and view a glow-in-the-dark forest art installation.  Volunteers are welcome to help with decorations, props, refreshments, and more. This year's theme is  Enchanted Forest . 

At least 50,000 people from around the U.S. are expected to attend the next  Oceans Calling  festival in Ocean City, Maryland. It runs from the 26th-28th of September. With its variety of performers, the event is a ''huge economic catalyst for local businesses,'' according to  WOBC-TV.    This year's lineup includes  Lenny Kravitz, Green Day , the  Black   Crowes, Devo, Collective Soul, Michelle Branch, Vampire Weekend ,  Train, Nelly, Blind Melon, Ziggy Marley, Fountains of Wayne, Fall Out Boy , and  En Vogue . In addition, there will be cooking demonstrations, with the  Food   Network 's  Robert Irvine  and actor  Jason Biggs  joining in (the latter serving as host). Attendees can also enjoy amusement park rides at  Jolly Roger At The   Pier  or shop at  Artsy Boho,  which offers Bohemian clothes, handmade backpacks, and healing crystals. Craig Inciardi  has been called the  Indiana Jones  of rock history. The New Yorker used to handle pop memorabilia on a daily basis while at  Sotheby's . That's where he met  Eric Clapton , who tried on  Buddy Holly 's motorcycle boots. Another time, then-13-year-old  Sean Lennon , stopped in, wanting to try on a jacket worn by  Jimi   Hendrix . Both Eric and Sean discovered that the apparel fit them perfectly. At least $75 million. . . That's how much  Christies' Elaine Wynn  auction is likely to fetch in November. The late co-founder of  Wynn Resorts  (launched by Elaine and ex-husband  Steve Wynn ) owned art spanning centuries and geographies.  Painters in the collection include  J.M.W. Turner, Richard Diebenkorn, Henri Matisse , and  Joan Mitchell . The philanthropist and business magnate also acquired works from today's talents, ranging from  Jenny Holzer  to  Jim Hodges .  Another special piece is on its way to the  Los Angeles County Museum of   Art , where Elaine was board co-chair.  Francis Bacon's Three   Studies of Lucian Freud , for which Elaine paid over $142 million at a  Christie's  auction, will go on view as part of next year's opening of  LACMA 's new building, the  David Geffen Galleries . How would you like to see a  LEGO  UFO exhibit or create your own flying saucer? These are a couple of options at the   Chehalis Flying Saucer Party , to be held on the 12th and 13th of September. Among other attractions are an Alien Invasion Costume Parade, along with music from the  Jacked Lords . They told the  Art and   Music Guide  that Saturday's set list will consist of ''psychedelic surf tunes including covers of the  Ventures  and other musicians we like, and originals.'' The Saucer Drop follows. There is no fee, but admission is required for film screenings and guest speakers. Proceeds will be donated to the  Lewis County Historical Museum .  Meanwhile in downtown Chehalis (539 N Market Blvd),  Mint City   Coffee  is hosting the  Flying Saucer Party UFO Art Show .  The artists will receive 70 percent of the sales; the rest is for the museum.  A reception will be held on Friday from 4-5:30 p.m....

But  CC DeVille  got the job because of his high hairdo and heels. Hippie Fest  is a music and arts festival for all ages. While not the same everywhere, attendees can generally expect to see bohemian vendor booths, tribute bands, drum circles, tie-dye activities, and a vintage car show.   The latter is to open all vehicles which fit the hippie theme. Categories include Most Artistic, Grooviest Paint Job, Best Photo-Op, and Most Psychedelic. The next festival will be held in Tipton, Indiana, on September 27 and 28. The  Seth Brown Duo  (Seth and his wife, Desiree) will be among the entertainers. Their specialty is ''country roots,'' a blend of folk, rock, and country music,and they perform original material along with some covers.  Desiree told the  Guide  this will be their first  Hippie Fest , and thinks both their attire and set list are ''very seventies.''  Another  Hippie Fest  follows in Salisbury, North Carolina, on October 25 and 26.
