An Aquarium's Underwater Art
Kentucky's Newport Aquarium has an exhibit that has been inspired by the fall season as well as the holiday of Halloween.
Through the third of November, visitors can view large replicas of animals such as sea turtles and octopuses at the Underwater Pumpkin GLOW show. There are also smaller depictions of puffer fish, frogs, and stingrays.
The underwater sculptures serve as artificial reefs for the aquarium's residents, with leftovers from underwater carving being used as snacks.
Since it's indoors, attendees don't have to wait until dark to enjoy the display.
The aim is to ''combine the fun of the season with the wonder of an underwater world,'' according to Madison Brady, PR manager at Newport Aquarium.
