Zoo's Halloween Celebration
Over five thousand illuminated jack-o-lanterns are currently on view at the Bronx Zoo.
It's part of Pumpkin Nights, which has been running on and off since September. It winds up on October 27. This is their second year--after a successful debut in 2023.
There is live pumpkin carving, and a variety of ecosystems, such as the jungle and desert, are represented. Adding to the experience are atmospheric sounds, music, colored lights, and costumed characters.
During the day--also running through the 27th of the month--this New York zoo offers Boo at the Zoo, where attendees are invited to contribute to a mural. You can draw your favorite animal or spooky creature. Face painting and a Halloween mash up with an emcee are also on the agenda.
Tickets are required, but those who are two years old or under get free admission.
