Fiona The Hippo Creations
A hippo has become a popular attraction at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, not to mention a muse for creatives.
Fiona, who initially struggled to survive when born prematurely in 2017, has since inspired art work created by Marge Adkins. Sales from each fairy ornament are donated to the Cincinnati animal park and conservatory.
In fact, their PNC lights display, on through the 5th of January, includes a chance for those visiting the Hippo area to find five Fiona fairies.
This is in addition to 5 million LED lights at the Ohio zoo's Festival of Lights, a black light puppet show, and Swan Lake Wild Lights show, choreographed to music.
It should come as no surprise that the zoo's store is loaded with Fiona goodies, including mugs, caps, socks, and necklaces. Or that the animal has been the subject of numerous illustrated books.
