''Rock to Baroque''
Eric Antoniou's two passions are music and photography. Both are chronicled in his new book, Rock to Baroque: Four Decades of Music Photography.
The publication date is the first of May. On the same date, a related exhibition opens at Boston's Panopticon Gallery, located in the Hotel Commonwealth.
Eric, who has also photographed actors and dancers, told the Art and Music Guide that 30 of his images will be displayed, through the 30th of June. Those who can't attend can visit https://ericantoniou.com/music for a sampling of his portfolio.
''I'm not sure if it will travel. But I'm planning on having a similar event at a theatre north of Boston for the fall.''
The artist got his first camera when he was thirteen. Originally from Greece, he took pictures of musicians there before moving to Massachusetts.
''The first photo in the book is from 1985 of Rory Gallagher.''
There's a photo per page with large captions (some of which Eric wrote). He has met many of the musicians in the book, and a number of them were ''musical heroes of mine growing up.'' Favorites include Tom Wait, Johnny Cash, The Clash, Philip Glass, Leonard Cohen, and Nirvana.
''And I am still working after all these years.''
