Duets
Chrissie Hynde has completed a new project, and it's not with the Pretenders. Instead, she has teamed up with the likes of Julian Lennon, Debbie Harry, Brandon Flowers, k.d. lang, Dave Gahan, and Shirley Manson.
The first single is with Rufus Wainwright, a cover of Always On My Mind, which hit streaming services on the 13th of August. Chrissie considers it to be a lot more stripped-down than Elvis Presley's version.
Fans can get the full Rhino Records release in vinyl, CD, or digital format on October 17.
Another music veteran, Barbra Streisand, released a duets album in June. The Secret of Life: Partners Volume 2 included a special trio performance by Barbra, Ariana Grande, and Mariah Carey.
It was the follow-up to her platinum-selling disc of duets in 2014.
June saw the release of more collaborations, this time with Rascal Flatts on Life Is a Highway: Refueled Duets. The Jonas Brothers, Kelly Clarkson, the Backstreet Boys, and Blake Shelton were some of the contributors.
Incidentally, the group is going on the road next year: it's the second leg of their Life Is A Highway 25th Anniversary Tour.
''We're not ready to exit the highway just yet!'' they quipped on an Instagram post.
