Next Week's Sound And Cinema Sale
On the 24th of November, Bonhams' Sound & Cinema Sale will be held.
It's led by furnishings, clothing, paintings, and even a typewriter, previously owned by Marianne Faithfull.
Two lots offer a more personal side. #3 contains a portion of the performer's diaries as well as lyrics, while No. 9 consists of correspondence with her father, first husband John Dunbar, artist Martin Sharp, and singer Gene Pitney. Also included are letters Marianne wrote to Yoko Ono and Damon Albarn, as well as an invitation to a reception from the Queen.
The auction offers some property from the late Beatles press officer, Derek Taylor as well. Among the items are a postcard from John and Yoko, and Derek's peacock chair. The ''peacock,'' incidentally, got the name from its fanned out back, not because of its color.
More musical options include John Entwistle's bass guitar and Marc Bolan's t-shirt. As for the cinematic choices, a highlight is the unusual Navigator Head built for David Lynch's Dune, containing skin-like details and blue mechanical eyes.
In both music and movies, there's an assortment of photos and posters, available through the third of December at
