2026 Rock Hall Honorees

The latest Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees have been announced, but at least one act is not attending the ceremony.

Iron Maiden won't be at the November event since that's when they'll be performing Down Under.

The other entertainers to be recognized on the 14th of November at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles are Phil Collins, Wu-Tang Clan, Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, Sade, and Luther Vandross. 

The inductions won't air live as in past years, but will pre-taped and available on ABC and Disney+ in December.

Yet more performers will be feted--receiving the Early Influence Award. They are Queen Latifah, Gram Parsons, Celia Cruz, MC Lyte, and Fela Kuti.

Musical Excellence honorees are Rick Rubin, Jimmy Miller, Arif Mardin, and Linda Creed, while Ed Sullivan has been named the 2026 Ahmet Ertegun recipient. 

This award is for non-performing industry professionals who, through their belief and support of artists and their songs, have influenced the creative development and growth of rock and roll and music which has impacted youth culture.

Hippie Fest  is a music and arts festival for all ages. While not the same everywhere, attendees can generally expect to see bohemian vendor booths, tribute bands, drum circles, tie-dye activities, and a vintage car show.   The latter is to open all vehicles which fit the hippie theme. Categories include Most Artistic, Grooviest Paint Job, Best Photo-Op, and Most Psychedelic. The next festival will be held in Tipton, Indiana, on September 27 and 28. 40 Years On

Slash  is best known for his  Guns N' Roses  contributions. Yet he nearly wound up with  Poison . After a successful audition, he was called back twice. But  CC DeVille  got the job because of his high hairdo and heels. That's according to  Martin Popoff 's celebration of the Gunners' 40th anniversary.  Another interesting part of  Guns N Roses at 40  concerns  Arnold   Schwarzeneg ger .  You Could Be Mine  was used in  Terminator 2:   Judgment Day  after Arnold invited the band over for dinner to ''seal the deal.''  It is surprising that  Stephanie Seymour  isn't mentioned once. The Jim Irsay Collection

T he late  Jim Irsay' s renowned collection of artifacts from the worlds of music, history, sports and literature will be offered by  Christie's   New York  in a series of auctions beginning in March 2026.  This will include instruments played by entertainers as diverse as  Elton   John  and  Miles Davis . Jim used to tour with some of his memorabilia, and sang with guests like  Ann Wilson,   Kevin Cronin,   Buddy Guy,  Peter Wolf, Vince Gill , and   Stephen Stills . Part of the proceeds from the auctions will go to causes championed by Irsay.
