Big Plans For Brown's Former Home

In December 2021,  Primary Wave  purchased the assets of  James Brown 's estate. Now they hope to turn the late performer's abode into a tourist destination. The continuing restoration process will be documented through a development deal with  Page Turner , the real estate agent and host of  HGTV 's  Fix My Flip .  Visitors will probably be surprised to see cotton branches around the house. Since James grew up picking cotton, he wanted to remind himself of where he came from.  The home, which is technically in South Carolina but close to Augusta, Georgia, has an assortment of stage costumes as well as a salon. The latter contains dozens of identical products, as James didn't want to run out, and thought they might not be available in the future. See the entire  Billboard story here .

According to  ABC Australia , the  Sydney Metro line art  has everything from revolving soundscapes to floor mosaics. All works use durable, easy-to-clean materials. Both experienced and emerging artists are represented.  Those who prefer a more conventional setting can visit the city's  National Maritime Museum . Its permanent  collection consists of over 160,000 artifacts, so of course not everything is on view at the same time. Items include travel posters, a surfboard and canoe, ship portraits, ship models, bark paintings, a centuries-old picture of a mermaid, and sheet music.  Visit  Sea Museum/collections  for a sampling.

A Review of 'Metal Cocktails'

Journalist/musician  Marc Aumont  and mixologist/restaurateur  Fabien   Labbe  have teamed up for  Metal Cocktails .  The book features 42 recipes (many accompanied by suggestions and facts) inspired by performers, songs, props, and more.  One is the  Lemmy Old Fashioned . It is based on the late  Lemmy Kilmister 's favorite drink,  Jack and Coke  ('Jack' of course being  Jack Daniel 's whiskey).  Absinthe Superstar  is likewise based on a drink associated with a singer:  Marilyn Manson  is known for his love of absinthe. Another is a frothy pink tribute to  Alice Cooper  and his snakes.  Callous   Cooper 's tropical flavors like banana juice and hibiscus (flower and syrup) may bring to mind the type of habitats snakes are from. More obvious examples are  Gins N' Roses  for  Guns N' Roses  and  Mint Judas  for  Judas Priest .  Highway to Ginger...
