Art Expos Planned For Chicago And Los Angeles
EXPO CHICAGO returns to the city's Navy Pier in a couple of months. It is now in its 11th year as an important international art fair.
From April 11-14, galleries from around the world will be welcomed: 29 countries are to be represented. That's part of Expo Art Week, running from April 8-14, and focused on galleries, museums, and special programming. Details are yet to be announced.
On the West Coast, 95 international galleries will be represented at Frieze Los Angeles.
The event is to be held at Santa Monica Airport from February 29-March 3, and will include the presentation of the Frieze Impact Prize to Gary Tyler.
The artist, who was wrongfully incarcerated for murder, will receive $25,000 and show his work, which often uses fabric quilting techniques he learned in prison.
